Sustain Natural- Condoms, Lubricant, Tampons, etc.

Our founders are a father-daughter team with deep roots in creating natural products. Jeffrey founded Seventh Generation many moons ago, and Meika, with a long standing passion for women's sexual and reproductive health, joined her father to create the first brand of all natural vagina-related products.

Have you ever thought about what you're putting inside your vagina? We have.

The Product

Their mission statement:

1) From tampons, to condoms, to lubricants, most products contain harmful ingredients that can harm your body rather than help it. At Sustain, 2) we’re committed to always putting your health first, which means our products are better, safer, and more vagina-friendly than traditional brands. Bonus points for being 3) better for Mother Earth as well.

 What "vagina friendly" means.

Most vagina-related products contain harmful ingredients and put little care into how they affect women’s bodies. We’re changing that.

Some condoms sold in the U.S. contain a class of carcinogenic chemicals called nitrosamines. These are decidedly not sexy. In 2010, the World Health Organization and the United Nations Population Fund recommended that manufacturers minimize the presence of nitrosamines. Unfortunately, the condom industry doesn’t seem to have gotten the message. In September 2014, the Reproductive Health Technologies Project (RHTP) released independent test results of latex condoms sold in the United States. Only two major brands were free of detectable nitrosamines across their entire product line! Sustain is supremely proud to be one of those brands.

Condoms can also contain a whole host of other vagina unfriendly chemicals, including irritating fragrances, odor masking agents, flavors, and spermicides—none of which are necessary to make an effective condom. So we don’t use any of them.

Our 100% organic cotton tampons are free of synthetic ingredients, rayon and fragrances, because we believe you should only put good stuff inside yourself.

Their Promise.

 No harmful chemicals.
No animal by-products. No parabens. No synthetic fragrances. Our products are organic, vegan, fair trade, and sustainably made. We put your body first and leave the bad stuff out.

 There's no Planet B

To ensure we are working with the eco-friendliest materials, we rely on third party certification like Forest Stewardship Council for our rubber tree plantation—one of the most sustainable ones on the planet, located in southern India. We’re proud to be a certified B-Corporation—a legal standard that ensures the business interests of investors are balanced with the interests of the environment, as well as employees, and you the customers. And we’re safer for all of the inhabitants of our environment, too. We don’t test on animals and our Made Safe certification means were sustainable for humans, too.

10% for Women.

There are over 20 million women in the U.S. who lack access to reproductive healthcare. That's not OK, which is why we give 10% of our profits to women's healthcare organizations.

 We're over certified.

Sustain puts your body first – our products are healthier for you, and also happen to be better for the environment.

The Review

The first time I ran across this company was after I liked Seventh Generations Facebook page. Little did I know that they both have a common founder. I ended up seeing an ad for this company a few days after. We all know how creepy Facebook is with advertising. If you say something out loud you'll start seeing it in ads on your page. Anyways, I watched the video. While I have not personally tried out the condoms or lubricants I do really like the company. I have however tried the tampons from this company. They are a little more pricey than normal tampons but not much much. Plus they are chemical free. WIN! I had read online before that organic cotton and chemical free tampons had wonderful benefits. Some of those are lighter periods, less cramping, and obviously no junk in them. I really enjoyed these and I would love to try out their other products. They have wonderful reviews for all of the products.
